Through the commitment and resources of University Advancement, this campus-wide crowdfunding program provides faculty, graduate researchers and fundraisers the training, tools, and technology necessary to successfully launch projects in need of gap funding.

UCI HyperXite

HyperXite is only four months away from testing a half scale Hyperloop pod during the final round of the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition. This undergraduate team is developing a transportation system that has the potential to transport people and freight between cities at 760 mph while releasing no greenhouse gasses. One could travel from Los Angeles to San Francisco in about thirty minutes for a fraction of the cost of an airplane ride. The goal of the HyperXite project and of the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition is to accelerate the development of this technology by demonstrating it in half scale. With your help, we can build a cleaner and better transportation system for California. Your donation will help us create the fifth mode of transportation in a very real way. Team Orange County: Making a Sustainable Future Feel Like Home

Team Orange County is the home team of the U.S. Department of Energy’s Solar Decathlon, where each team is tasked to design and build a home powered by solar energy. Team Orange County is a cross-pollination of students from UC Irvine, Chapman University, Irvine Valley College, and Saddleback college. We believe our home, Casa del Sol, will be the home of the future because of its four basic principles: passive solar, disruptive innovation, designed for the SoCal Market, and drought resistant infrastructure. We need your support to raise $20,000 for some of our disruptive innovative components: our Lumencache lighting system, kitchen pendants, window actuators, and sensors.
